Partner Link Service – Probation Programmes
The Partner Link (formerly known as Women’s Safety Service) operates in partnership with Cheshire & Greater Manchester Probation Service and is a confidential service that offers support to women who are known victims of domestic abuse and current partners of men who are undertaking the criminal court mandated programmes. Building Better Relationship (BBR) or Improving Relationships Supporting Change (IR-SC). Women can only be referred to the service by Cheshire & Greater Manchester Probation Service.
The service is confidential to provide known victims and current partners of men undertaking the programmes a link to a women’s safety worker for the duration that the man is required to attend and for up to 6 months after completion.
The purpose of contact with victims and current partners is to:
Provide realistic information about the Men’s Programmes, including what you can expect to happen. It is important for current or ex partners that he may not change.
Provide information about attendance on the programme.
Contribute to promoting safety of current and ex partners by providing information about safety planning.
Help current and ex-partners’ access local services for support, advice and assistance.
Let current or ex partners know of any concerns or emerging risks posed by men attending the programmes.
Partner Link Service – Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS)
The Partner Link Service also has a partnership with CAFCASS through the family courts where families have been identified that there has been domestic abuse. Women can only be referred to the service by CAFCASS.
Partner Link Service – Supporting families in Salford
The Partner Link Service is also working in partnership with the Local Authority and Cheshire & Greater Manchester Probation offering a holistic approach working with all members of the family to make positive changes addressing experiences of domestic abuse to enhance their family life.
